Golf is a fall sport in Pennsylvania, usually beginning at the end of August and running through the end of September or beginning of October. The PIAA offers golf as a tournament sport for high school only, but Veritas Academy also offers the sport on a club level for Middle School students. Veritas Academy is excited about competing as an official golf team for the first time in the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. This past fall, the team participated at a club level, sending two golfers to the the district qualifying tournament as independent players. Terry Hertzog, head golf professional at Bent Creek Country Club, served as our coach this past year.
