Student Serve-a-thon Fundraiser
Veritas Students raised $28,365 in the 2010 Serve-a-thon.
On March 25, 2010 Veritas students served at Global Aid Network (GAiN). On that day the students had a little over $24,000 in pledges. But since the service day, donors have given $28,365.
This is the third year for Veritas' Serve-a-thon. Students raise sponsors for their day of service at Global Aid Network. GAiN is a multi-national network of ministries serving to demonstrate the love of God, through word and deed, to hurting and needy people around the world through relief and development projects. For the service day students accomplish age appropriate tasks for students as young as 5-year-olds up to adults. Students process clothes, blankets, coats and shoes. They put together hygiene kits, make Gospel bracelets, write letters and draw pictures for care packages. They mix highly nutriti0onally meals. For more information on GAiN click here.
The sponsorship goal is to average $175 per student. When individuals sponsor a Veritas student their sponsorship benefit benefit three groups:
-
Veritas Academy students will receive all the sponsorship funds.
-
Global Aid Network will receive a day of service.
-
Poor families of third world countries will receive humanitarian aid.
The funds they raise enable us to improve our classical, Christian education and help families who otherwise could not afford tuition.
